Project: FX Fluid Test
Dates: Winter 2014
Synopsis: Generated fluid test using Houdini 14. Simple cube static solver and added FLIP from object. Important takeaways:

  • Iterate as much as you can before rendering. Lower defaults, they aim for final renders
  • In particular, sampling pixel size: start with 3
  • Lowered whitewater particle generation by /10
  • ROP everything. Don't try to render everything out at the end.

Title: PYP - the Pyed Piper Tutorial
Client: Personal Project
Date: June - October 2011
Synopsis: Pyed Piper is a brand new linux tool designed by the visionary Toby Rosen and meant to combine the awesome powers of linux and python. As a tutorial product, I wanted the motion graphics to be informative, simple, and engaging. The piece was mostly composited in After Effects, while heavy use of plugins including shine, and sapphire were also employed.
